SB 619 UPDATE

Last Thursday, Senators Leah Vukmir and Paul Farrow gave testimony about their bill, SB 619.  There were many people who wished to speak at that hearing both for and against SB 619.  Unfortunately, Senator Luther Olsen rigged the schedule of speakers so that mostly those who wanted to speak against the bill went first.  This left many of us who wanted to speak for the bill pushed to the back of the line and many were unable to speak due to previous commitments (like picking their kids up from school!)

Senate Bill 619 is a bill that defines a clear process for adopting academic standards in Wisconsin.  This bill:

  • Sets up a board with members appointed by the Governor, Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Legislature.
  • Defines a schedule on which academic standards will be removed.
  • Replaces Common Core Standards with Wisconsin Standards within 1 year

About Us

MISSION STATEMENT

The Ozaukee Patriots is a group of individuals united by our shared concern over excessive spending by an out-of-control Federal Government that has exceeded boundaries set by the U.S. Constitution. As an organization, we believe that adherence to the U.S. Constitution will result in Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.

We also recognize the strength of grassroots organizing empowered by activism and civic responsibility at a local level.

The purpose of the Ozaukee Patriots is to organize like-minded individuals, educate and inform others based on our core values, to secure public policy consistent with those values, and to positively affect the outcome of elections.

MEMBERSHIP INFO

As a member of the Ozaukee Patriots,  it is requested that you actively participate, not just on this website, but on committees and projects and at meetings and events. Active participation also includes the services and dedication of people who are unable to be physically present at meetings and events but who keep themselves involved by doing research, contacting members regarding Ozaukee Patriots agenda, disseminating information to the public, contacting legislators, etc.  We cannot be effective as an active group with passive members.

There are many benefits available to members of the Ozaukee Patriots. We are in constant contact with many of our legislators and are honored to have them attend our meetings to keep us informed and to advise as to how we can be influential in decision-making, especially when our conservative values are being challenged. In addition, we arrange for a variety of speakers on politics, communication techniques and other topics of interest and instruction.

Join us as we enter our fourth year.
